You represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement. If you are using our website or services on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

3. Description of Services
corvaulte provides legal services in three practice areas: medical negligence claims, franchise law and licensing advisory, and notarial services. Our website provides general information about these services and a means to contact us.
The information on our website is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. No solicitor-client relationship is formed by your use of the website or by submitting an enquiry through our contact form. A solicitor-client relationship is established only upon mutual agreement, confirmed in a written letter of engagement.
Our services are primarily available to individuals and businesses in Malaysia, though our notarial services extend to documents for international use.
4. User Responsibilities
When using our website and services, you agree to the following:
You will provide accurate and complete information when submitting enquiries or engaging our services. You will not use our website for any unlawful purpose or in a manner that could damage, disable, or impair the site. You will not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website, its servers, or any connected systems. You will not reproduce, distribute, or otherwise use our website content without our prior written consent. You will respect the confidentiality of any information shared during the course of a legal engagement.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, design elements, and the overall arrangement of the site, is the property of corvaulte or its licensors and is protected by Malaysian and international intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-transferable licence to access and view the website content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our website content, nor may you reverse-engineer or attempt to extract any source code from the website.
Legal documents and advice prepared specifically for you as part of an engagement remain subject to the terms of that engagement and applicable professional rules.
6. Payment Terms
Fees for our legal services are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). The starting fees published on our website represent minimum engagement costs and may vary depending on the nature and complexity of the matter.
Before commencing any work, we will provide you with a clear fee estimate or fee agreement. Any changes to the scope of work that affect fees will be discussed and agreed with you in advance. Payment terms, including accepted methods and any instalment arrangements, will be set out in the letter of engagement.
Refund policies, if applicable, will be addressed in the individual engagement letter. Where services have been partially rendered, fees will be calculated on a proportional basis for the work completed.
7. Service-Specific Terms
Medical Negligence Claims: The outcome of medical negligence matters depends on the specific facts, evidence, and applicable law. We do not represent that any particular result will be achieved. Initial case evaluations are intended to provide an honest assessment of the merits and are not a commitment to pursue the matter further. Expert medical opinions obtained during the course of a case are subject to the independent judgment of the appointed expert.
Franchise Law and Licensing: Regulatory processes, including franchise registration with the Registrar of Franchises, are subject to timelines and requirements imposed by the relevant authority. We will use reasonable efforts to facilitate timely processing but cannot control the pace of regulatory review. Advice regarding the Franchise Act 1998 is based on the legislation as it stands at the time of the engagement.
Notarial Services: Notarial acts are performed in accordance with Malaysian law. For documents intended for use in foreign jurisdictions, acceptance is subject to the requirements of the receiving authority, which may change without notice. We will use reasonable efforts to ensure compliance with known requirements but cannot warrant acceptance in every case. Apostille processing times are subject to the schedule of the relevant Malaysian authority.
8. Disclaimers
Our website and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we make reasonable efforts to keep the information accurate and up to date, we do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
The information on our website does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. Legal matters are fact-specific, and outcomes depend on individual circumstances. Nothing on this website should be interpreted as a promise or representation regarding the outcome of any legal matter.
We are not liable for any decisions made or actions taken based on the general information provided on our website.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, corvaulte shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our website or services.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms and Conditions shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to corvaulte for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including our professional obligations as regulated by the Bar Council of Malaysia.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless corvaulte, its partners, employees, and agents from and against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms and Conditions, your use of our website in violation of these terms, or any information you provide to us that is inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading.
11. Termination
We may restrict or terminate your access to our website at our discretion if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms and Conditions. Such termination does not affect any rights or obligations that accrued prior to termination.
Either party may terminate a legal engagement in accordance with the terms set out in the letter of engagement. Upon termination of an engagement, provisions relating to confidentiality, intellectual property, limitation of liability, and any outstanding payment obligations shall survive.
12. Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
Before commencing formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute through informal negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within thirty (30) days of the initial written notice, either party may pursue resolution through the courts or, where agreed by both parties, through mediation.
13. Force Majeure
corvaulte shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, pandemics, civil unrest, or disruptions to telecommunications or power supply.
14. General Provisions
Entire Agreement: These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and corvaulte regarding your use of our website. Separate engagement letters govern individual legal service engagements.
Severability: If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
Notices: Any notices required under these terms should be sent to [email protected] or to our office address at 53 Jalan Bangsar, 59200 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
15. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on our website. Your continued use of the website following such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
